This Guatemalan Cofffee is really special since it is located less than 1 hour away from Ciudad de Guatemala and 15 mins from Antigua Guatemala. In the distance you can enjoy the view of Volcan de Agua "Water Volcano". Driving the narrow mountain road up impossibly steep slop to Finca El Tesoro the views are striking. The valley stretches out below as far as the eye can see.
The fresher a coffee is, the better – right? Well, yes… also no. Even though nobody wants to drink stale coffee, brewing a coffee straight after roasting can also result in a disappointing brew. That’s because of coffee degassing. Degassing takes 2 - 12 days depending on how its roasted. Takitaki Coffee Roasters takes 5 - 6 days to degas. Please ask advise if required.
